Soulive
- Cas went to college with Eric
Krasno, the guitarist from this now-world-famous funk/jazz
trio. Back in college, they were called Lettuce.
Original members of Lettuce
still hook up with the Soulive crew for occasional gigs. Both
band are beyond funky.
Julian
Velard - Another Hampshire Alum. that's doing his thing all
over the East Coast, winning attention in the national music press...
think Tom Waits meets Michael Jackson. One soulful dude. He and
Cas used to be the anchor of many blues jams.
Paul
Curreri - Literally one of the best acoustic musicians/songwriters
out there and a slick fingerstyle guitarist. Cas has opened for
Paul on many of his California dates since 2002.
Zack
Hexum - 311 lead singer's little brother and one of LA's top
independent acoustic artists. Cas and Zack are doing some touring
together in 2006.
Gabriel
Mann- Sharing the bill with Cas and Zack Hexum on some summer

year, opening Allanis Morisette's European tour and doing dates
stateside w/ the likes of Jesse McCartney and Jamie Cullum.
Free

band. They were recenty chosen as one of the top 13 bands to watch
in 2006 by Relix.
Garrin

He and Cas have done some gigs together locally. Garrin has been
a force on the SF scene for years and has opened for quite a few
major label artists along the way.
Kayo

Pat
Jordan Band
- The rockinest band out of Santa Rosa CA at the moment. Cas and
PJB have gigged together and will again.
Justin
Farren
- Also from Sacramento, this kid is one of our new favorites.
His sound is similar to Jason Mraz, but he's got a ton of soul
and great tunes.

Mokai
- Veteran Bay Area folk/rock artists with some downright crafty
tunes.

on any Wednesday night (if you can find it), and you'll see only
top tier instrumentalists and songwriters from the local and national
scene.
Cas's
All Time Favorites and Influences:
JimI
Hendrix - If you don't know, you better ask somebody. Nothing
has been the same for Cas since he found his way to Hendrix in
his teens. He learned to play Jimi's albums, Axis Bold As Love
and Electric Ladyland note for note one summer. Since then, he's
been a real guitar player.
Kelly
Joe Phelps - In Cas's opinion, the best living acoustic guitarist/songwriter.
Lap slide and fingerstyle like nobody else out there, and a great
singer too. Cas had the pleasure of opening for Kelly Joe in Vancouver
BC in January 06.
Dave
Matthews Band - Yeah, but you liked them before they were
popular. Think about that.
Robert
Johnson - The late delta blues great. One of the most influential
guitarists in the history of the instrument. Cas has learned to
play many of his songs and lived to tell.
The
Band - Robbie Robertson, Levon Helm, and Co. A band that should
be mentioned whether you're talking about Dylan or not.
The
Grateful Dead - Yep.
Tribe
Called Quest - No, you won't catch Cas busting a rhyme any
time soon, but Tribe has been one of his favorites since he can
remember. If you don't own Low End Theory, you're technically
not alive.
Sting
- Gordon Sumner. Am amazing composer and arrranger and guilty
pleasure. His music has greatly influenced Cas and most of his
contemporaries in acoustic rock. (Mayer, Mraz, DMB, etc)
Paul
Simon
- The only artist Cas has listened through straight through every
faze, age range, musical tangent, relocation, and breath he's
taken. Since his mom sang Saint Judy's Comet to him as a baby,
Paul Simon has been one of Cas's fav's.
